To mark the 30th anniversary of the world’s first weekly drag king party, Drag King History presents Club Casanova: 90’s NYC Drag King Revolution, running September 27 through October 16, 2026. Founded in 1996 by drag performer, producer, and historian Mo B. Dick, Club Casanova became a pivotal launchpad for modern drag king culture, sparking global media attention, books (The Drag King Book), award-winning films (Venus Boyz), and international performance tours. At a time of increasing national restrictions on drag and trans performers, this retrospective offers a timely look at queer nightlife resilience.
